Playing at the Beach

Saturday afternoon was really warm for this time of year, so we headed up to Skiatook Lake. We decided not to take the boat, so we just played on the beach, swam in the water, and took turns riding the wave runner.

Backyard Campout

Friday night we camped out in our backyard. The kids wanted to do it, so we decided to go along with their idea. I would never have imagined how much fun they would have. Brady said it was the best weekend of his life. We set up two tents...one for Grant, Brady and their friend Joe, and one for the rest of us.
Drew was so excited that he could see the stars from his bed.
The boys set up a light in their tent so they could play chess and chinese checkers.

We had a really fun night, and the best part was waking up in the morning and being able to come inside for some hot chocolate and a hot shower. It was definitely my kind of camping.

How do I get this kid to wear clothes?

We all have things in life that we don't like to do. For Drew, it is wearing clothes. He hates clothes. Every chance he gets, he takes off his clothes. It used to be kind of cute when he was 2, but now that he's 3 1/2 it's getting kind of old. And embarrassing. Just ask Grant and Brady. Friday morning, they were outside riding bikes before school when Brady came running in the house.
"Mom, Drew is SO embarrassing."
"Why is that?"
"The school bus just drove by and Drew was standing out by the street waving a lightsaber at the bus."
"Why is that embarrassing?"
"Go look."
I went outside and this is what I saw:
Later that day...
Nick was setting up a tent for the kids to have a backyard sleepover, and this was the outfit that Drew put on to help him. He doesn't care for clothes, but he loves accessories.
How do I get him to keep his clothes on???

Tulsa Zoo

The weather this week has been perfect! I love the fall and the cooler temperatures. We've tried to spend as much time as possible outside, so Thursday afternoon we went to the zoo.

This little baby chimp was so cute. He played at the window with all the kids. Here he is giving Drew a high five through the glass.
Riding the carousel.
The boys taking good care of the girls (as it should be). Drew and Brent worked so hard to pull Mazee and Kaylee around the zoo.

How sweet!

Last weekend my niece Kaylee and nephew Brent slept over at our house. I had to take these pictures of 2 year old Kaylee being so cuddly with Brady while he was watching tv.

Grant's 9th Birthday

We celebrated Grant's birthday last Saturday with a family party. We met all of the cousins at our church gym and played volleyball, dodgeball and indoor soccer. Then we headed back to our house for dinner, presents and cake.

Grant loved all of his presents.
Brady was excited that there was a lego set for him in the package that Grandma and Grandpa Spinar sent.

Grant always wants jello cake for his birthday each year.

Drew loves when his cousins come over to play.

Drew's First Day of Preschool

Yesterday was a huge day. My youngest child started preschool!!! Drew's going to school 2 mornings a week for 2 1/2 hours. What am I going to do with 5 hours of free time every week? Maybe I'll actually have time to clean my house and catch up on a few projects. Or, maybe I'll do nothing and sit on the couch and enjoy the complete silence. Who knows what I'll do, but the possibilities are endless! Drew was just as excited about starting school as I was. He's been anxiously waiting for his first day since Grant and Brady started school 3 weeks ago. His friend Owen is in his class, so that makes it even more fun. I think the drop off on the first day would have been a lot harder if Owen hadn't been there. Drew wanted me to stay and play for about 3 minutes, then he gave me a high five, and told me I could go.
Ready to go to school!
Here are some funny pictures of Drew from this summer. He's always doing something to make us laugh. I hope his teachers at school think he's as funny as we do! This kid is definitely has personality!
Wearing huge goggles even though he doesn't put his head under the water.
Getting ready for a swim in the shallow end.
Wearing the Yoda mask every way except for on his face.

What? Your kid doesn't wear a bicycle helmet when you go out for ice cream?
It never hurts to be prepared with 3 pairs of goggles on your head when you're eating a snack at the pool.

We love our Drew!
