Brady's Baptism

Brady was baptized last night. It was such a sweet experience. He was very happy to be getting baptized. We were thankful to have all of my family there, and Brady made sure that they all had a part in the program. Grant even gave a talk, and I was touched when he talked about how much he loved his brother. I was amazed at how many of our friends came to support Brady. We are fortunate to have so many wonderful friends.

Happy 8th Birthday Brady!

Brady turned 8 this weekend and my dad turned 60. Brady loves that they share the same birthday. They're definitely best buds. We had a fun family celebration at my mom and dad's house. Brady is an awesome kid and we're so proud of him! I can't believe he's already 8 years old!

Brady's Birthday Party

Brady turns 8 next week! Nick and I are going to be at youth conference on his birthday, so we had a party with his friends a little early this year. Brady wanted to have his party at home since we are moving soon. We have had a lot of parties at our house, and it looks like this will be the last one. (Sniff, sniff) We were really lucky that the weather was PERFECT the day of the party. We were able to stay outside at the park almost the entire time. All of the boys brought bikes, scooters or ripsticks and rode on the trail at the park. I think they would have been happy doing that the entire time, but we planned some fun games, too.
One of the games we played was water balloon volleyball.
Of course that eventually turned into a full blown water balloon fight.

We also set up a game of kickball. The park next to our house has a backstop and everything.

We came inside for cake and ice cream and presents.

Brady had a fun time at his birthday party, and he loved celebrating with so many of his friends.

Cub Scout Camp

This week is cub scout day camp. It's Brady's first year to go, so it was really neat for Grant and Brady to be there together. I got to go with them on Monday and Tuesday and watch all the fun and excitement. The zip line, BB guns, and archery were their favorites.

Best Birthday Party EVER

My nephew Brent just turned 5, and we celebrated with the best birthday party ever! He wanted to go camping, so the entire family met at Tall Chief Cove at Skiatook Lake. It was a party that he and all the other kids won't soon forget. We had a blast!

Emmy wore her life jacket around camp because our campsite was really close to the lake. She's such a cutie.
Garrett was pretty happy to be there as you can tell from his big grin. Grammie and Gramps took Garrett and Emmy home at bedtime, and everyone else stayed and slept in tents. The babies were probably happier at home in bed, and I didn't hear Grammie and Gramps complaining either. Brady got a ripstick for an early birthday present the day before. He and Grant had a great time riding all over the place. I don't know how they do it...I keep trying and falling. I think it's hard!
After we got our tents set up and had cake and presents, we went to play on the beach.

Ben and Alicia gave all the kids these cool headlamps for a party favor. Brent and Drew loved playing in the tent after it got dark with their lights.

It was so fun sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows, singing songs, and just being with our family.
The next morning we planned to take the boat and jet ski out, but it was cold and windy. We changed our mind about the boat, and just played at the playground instead.

Thanks Alicia and Ben for setting the bar SO high for the next family birthday party! How could we possibly top a camping trip?
