Farewell to our home sweet home...

This was the scene at our house this week. Boxes and more boxes everywhere. We are so thankful for the wonderful friends and family who came to help us move our stuff into our storage unit today. We're headed to live with my mom and dad until our other house is finished.

The kids have been troopers this week helping us pack and clean. And, when they aren't helping, they've kept themselves occupied by building forts out of the boxes.
Tonight we're basically in an empty house. We still have our mattresses, the computer and a few other things that we're taking with us to my parents' house. We're not closing until Monday, so we're going to spend two last nights in our almost empty house. We've lived here for 7 happy years, and we're just not quite ready to give it up.
Drew and Brady didn't want to sleep in their empty room tonight, so they convinced Grant to let them sleep in his empty room instead. I had to snap a picture of my 3 snoozing kids on our last weekend here. They were so sweet before falling asleep when they were chatting about all of their favorite memories of this house. Lots of good times!

It looks like a house!

It's been exactly two months since we broke ground on our new house. Nick has been working non stop for two months on this project. He is exhausted, but happy that the framing is within a few days of being done. He'll start getting some subs out there next week to alleviate some of his workload. It's been an awesome experience for our kids to watch the house go up. Drew is in heaven with all the forklifts, cranes, track hoes and other equipment that we've had out there.

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July with the Berrys. We swam and had a delicious bbq at their house, then went to watch the Jenks Riverwalk fireworks. We decided to watch from the aquarium parking lot to avoid the crowds at Riverwalk.

Our family
The kids brought their scooters and rip sticks and had fun playing while we waited for the festivities to start.

These rip sticks have been the best purchase ever. They have kept the boys busy all summer.

Their was an airshow before it got dark. It was pretty cool to watch.

This picture of Drew cracks me up. I think he must be casting a spell on me or something.

The Berry family

Finally, the sun went down. Let the fireworks begin!

We had a happy and fun 4th of July, and as you can see, we had some pretty tired boys when it was all over.

Oklahoma City Super Sprint Tri

A few weekends ago we all spent the weekend in Oklahoma City, and the 5 of us participated in the OKC Super Sprint Triathlon. Steve competed by himself, Heather and Ben were teamates, and Alicia and I were teamates.
Here is Steve running out of the pool area after his swim.

This is Ben swimming.

This is Alicia finishing up her swim.
Grant and Brady were our official photographers. They were also our fan club and cheering section. My mom and dad kept all of the other kids (6 kids under the age of 5) at our hotel while we competed.
I love that I have such an active and competitive family. It's a blast to do stuff like this together.

The countdown begins...

Today was our home inspection, and it looks like we'll be closing on this house in 3 more weeks. We're going to stay with my mom and dad until our other house is done. (Thanks again mom and dad!) We're almost done with the framing on our new house. (Do you like how I sad "we" are almost done? I haven't actually done any work on it, but Nick has been working like crazy to get the framing done) Check out the progress on the "Our New House" blog.
We're excited that our friends the Childress family are buying our house. It will be fun to come back and visit. We have so many happy memories here.

Tennis Camp

This week Grant and Brady went to tennis camp at LaFortune park with their friends Micah and Cole. Learning a new sport was fun for them, and all 4 boys seemed to love tennis. They're already trying to talk Steph and I into signing them up for some kind of more permanent lessons.

When they got done with their 1 1/2 hour lesson everyday, all the other kids hopped in their cars and left. Not our kids! They couldn't get enough of tennis. The four of them would play as long as we'd let them after camp was over.
Above is Grant vs. Cole, and below is Micah vs. Brady.
Here are all 4 boys after their first day. I know I've said it before, but we're so glad that our kids have such awesome friends.

Snow Cones

The last day of tennis camp ended with snow cones. Nothing tastes better on a sticky hot day than a ice cold syrupy snow cone. Yum!

We're the coolest moms ever (according to us)

Since we were together every morning for tennis camp, Stephanie and I decided to take the kids to do something fun every day when we got done. Monday was the splash pad, Tuesday was Chuck-E-Cheese and "Monsters vs. Aliens" at the 50 cent movies, Wednesday was swimming, and Thursday was bowling. We told our kids that for sure they had the coolest moms EVER. I don't know if they believed us, but we definitely had an exciting week.

The bowling alley was so full that there weren't two lanes together. The 4 older boys bowled without us, and we took Drew, Sydney and Sienna to bumper bowl on a different lane. These boys are growing up so fast! I think they were pretty happy to have their own lane away from the two moms and the little kids.
