Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Brady decided to try baseball this spring for the first time. He has been playing soccer too, so he's been quite busy. I can't believe how much he loves baseball. I think this will be the first of many seasons for him. He's on a team with his good friends Trent, Dallin and Brady Mills, so that has made the season even more fun.

Look at that running stride. I love to watch Brady run. He's so quick and light on his feet. I wish I had his speed.

Safe!

Girls Night

I love getting together with my high school girlfriends. We always laugh and laugh and laugh. It seems like we never have enough time together, so this weekend after meeting for dinner everyone had a sleepover at my house. We stayed up until 3:30 in the morning laughing and talking.

Growing up so fast

Brady is pretty excited that he is now taller than Mimi. :)

April Fool's

Is April Fool's Day a major holiday at your house? No? It sure is at ours. I'm pretty sure Brady plans for this day all year long. We woke up bright and early when Grant came running downstairs telling us we were late for school. He was dressed, teeth brushed, and ready to walk out the door. The only problem was it was only 5:00. Brady had set Grant's clock ahead a couple of hours during the night. And, just in case Grant thought to run into Brady's room to check that clock, Brady had also changed his own clock. Sneaky kid!

When we got ready to eat breakfast, all the cereal had been switched to different boxes (Grant did that), and the milk was missing (also Grant). I had a few tricks up my sleeve too. When we finally found all the cereal and milk, I handed them their bowls of cereal with a few drops of food coloring hidden under the cereal. As they poured milk into their bowls, it turned blue. After two of the the three kids refused to eat their blue cereal, I offered to get them a fresh bowl. During the night I had frozen three bowls of water. I poured just enough cereal to cover the ice chunk in the bottom of the bowl, added a little milk, and then served it to them. They cracked up when their spoons clanked on the ice. (score 2 points for mom)

When we tried to get out the door for school, Brady's backpack was missing (Grant), everyone had paper towels stuffed in their shoes (Brady), and Drew had a lunch box full of food that he hates (Brady).

I finally dropped them off at school and was thankful that it wasn't a weekend. I don't know if I could put up with the jokes all day.

While the kids were at school, I couldn't get my mouse to work. (Brady) It took me forever to figure out what was wrong with it.
After school, Drew convinced his teacher to tell me he had been in trouble that day. She definitely had me going.
When we got home, Drew wanted to play the Wii, and it wouldn't work. Surprise, surprise...it was unplugged (Brady).

One of Brady's jobs that day was to feed his lizard, Squirt. When he got up there, Squirt was missing from his cage. Brady looked everywhere and was frantic. I told him he probably didn't put the lid on tight after he had changed the water in the cage the night before. After about 15 minutes of agonizing, Grant came walking in the room with Squirt in a shoebox and said, "April Fools". Paybacks for waking Grant up at 5 a.m.

I am so glad April Fool's Day only comes once a year!
