Wish Lemons 5k

I ran my first race of 2011 yesterday. Emily, Trisha and I ran the Wish Lemons run. Emily is moving to Oklahoma City in 3 weeks, and I'm so sad! The weather was definitely not great for a race--it was cold, windy and misty.

Emily and I before the race staying warm inside the building.

Emily and I both placed 3rd in our age groups. The girl who came in 2nd in my age group only beat me by 1 second! Oh I wish I had just run a little bit faster!

Silly Drew

Drew woke me up on Sunday morning asking if I would play with him. This is how he was dressed. A cross between soccer, baseball, tennis and football. I seriously love this kid!

Go BYU!

Drew helped me make some more yummy treats for the last BYU game. It was so sad to see them lose in overtime to Florida, but we had a fun night hanging out with the Calls. Drew helped dip the blue cake pops and the chocolate basketball suckers. I really love it when my boys help me in the kitchen.

Go Cougars!

We're so proud of the Cougars for making it to the Sweet 16 this year! We've cheered them on all year long and it's been a great season! We had some friends over to watch them defeat Gonzaga, and it was such a fun night. We of course had to have some Y sugar cookies to help celebrate the win!
Drew and Simon got bored with the game, but they were sure cute playing Just Dance on the Wii.

Spring Break in Utah

We got to go to Utah for spring break this year. We were so excited to ski, see some great friends and do other fun things. We got up at 4 in the morning to catch an early flight. After almost missing our flight because the security line was so long (which is so unusual in Tulsa) and being yelled at by a cranky gate agent, we finally boarded our flight to Salt Lake. When we got there we found out that not only had they lost our checked bags, but one of our carry on bags was missing as well. Since we didn't have our skis or any of our ski clothes, we couldn't ski the first day like we had planned.
Here is Nick demonstrating how he feels about missing a day of skiing.
We ended up at Thanksgiving Point and spent some time at the Dino museum. Not exactly skiing, but it was fun anyways. Drew especially liked it.

Anytime my kids can dig in dirt, mud or sand, they're happy. We spent the rest of the day with our good friends the Haskins at the Provo Beach Resort and it turned out to be a great day.

Ropes Course

The first day we were in Utah we met the Haskins at the Provo Beach Resort. We were so excited to see them again! The Ropes Course was a huge hit with all the kids and with Nick. They described it as scary but fun.

Surfing at the Provo Beach Resort

Indoor surfing at the Provo Beach Resort was so cool. The kids loved trying to surf and boogie board. I wish we had a place like this in Tulsa!

Temple Square

Of course one of the highlights of every trip to Utah is visiting temple square. We also spent some time at the Church history museum. The Book of Mormon children's exhibit was really great.

Skiing

We had so much fun skiing at Alta with Nick's best friend Brett and his daughters.

Drew improved so much in the time we were there. He is so speedy now that I can hardly keep up with him.

I had fun with my little buddy all day. He was so enthusiastic and happy. I loved skiing with him.

Friends!

We loved being able to spend so much time with the Haskins while we were in Utah. It was fun to just be able to hang out at their house with them. Playing Just Dance on the Wii was definitely a highlight. It was hilarious!

Everyone in our family loved little Dax. He is such a cutie.
Noah and Drew had so much fun playing together. They played upstairs for hours and we never heard anything from them.

This was the picture we got when we tried to get the kids to pose. I guess it shows their true personalities.

More Friends!

We got to spend a couple of days with the Wixoms at the end of our trip. We were so happy to see them again! We all picked up right where we left off.

One day we went to Classic Skating and skated, played laser tag, played video games, bounced in the bounce houses, and played on the giant playground. It was so much fun!

Steph and I even got in on the skating action.
These three were hilarious together.

One afternoon we drove out to Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake. We saw antelope and bison, and had fun skipping rocks into the lake. The Wixoms brought airsoft guns and pop cans, and the boys had a BLAST shooting the cans.

Of course we made some time to just hang out at their house and catch up.
