Thanksgiving Day

We spent Thanksgiving at my Aunt Suzie and Uncle Steve's house. The weather was gorgeous, so after a delicious meal, we spent the afternoon enjoying the sunshine.

Grant set up a race course for the little kids.

What's a family get together without a little competition? The adults played basketball--our family's favorite sport.

Suzie and Steve's dog Fancy provided all kinds of entertainment for the kids.
She did trick after trick to get treats from the kids.
Drew wore Brent's bike helmet all afternoon whether or not he was riding the bike. Brent's head is a lot smaller than Drew's, so the helmet was sort of balanced on top of Drew's head.
They finally wore Fancy out. I'm sure she hasn't worked or played that hard ever in her life.
We had a really enjoyable and relaxing Thanksgiving Day. It is so nice to have a day set aside when we can think about all that we are thankful for. I am thankful for so many things, but my family and friends are at the top of my list.
Grammie asked Drew what he was most thankful for, and he said, "my feet".
I hope everyone else had a wonderful holiday, and I hope you took time out of your busy day to consider being thankful for your feet, too.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Break

I think I've been just as excited as the kids for Thanksgiving break. I love having time to spend with the kids when they're not in school. Tuesday night we invited my nephew Brent to spend the night at our house. He and Drew are best buddies, and they always have so much fun together.

The boys helped me make these cute little turkeys. They also helped eat a lot of turkeys! Drew said they tasted better than "lunch turkey".

On Wednesday we met all the cousins at the YMCA to swim at the indoor pool.

Grant and Brady invited their friends Cole and Micah to come with us. YMCA

After the pool, we went to the Owasso park. It was almost 70 degrees! That's SO warm for the end of November.

It was a really fun way to kick off Thanksgiving break.

Twilight

These are my cute friends (somehow Monica didn't end up in the picture--sorry Monica)that went to see Twilight with me on Friday night. Kressyda was in town this weekend from Texas, and we had such a fun time. We ate, shopped, got pedicures, ate some more, worked out, and just had a fun time hanging out.

Soccer Party

We had our soccer party at Chuck-E-Cheese. It was fun to celebrate with my team. What a great group of kids!

My kids had so much fun playing in all the leaves at Woodward Park. We have no trees in our yard, so they don't get to do this very often. I love fall!

Saying Goodbye to Grandpa

My grandpa passed away early this morning. I feel at peace knowing that he has been reunited with my grandma that he missed so much. His health has been declining for such a long time now, and I know that it is a blessing that he is no longer suffering.
I am very thankful that we have lived close to him for the past 7 years so that my kids could have the chance to get to know him. They loved his sense of humor and his never ending stash of candy.
I have my own great memories of fishing, water skiing, camping and having sleepovers/game nights with grandma and grandpa. Those memories will never be forgotten.
These pictures are of the last visit that Grant, Brady and Drew had with grandpa. We will all miss him, but are comforted knowing that he is in a better place.

Aren't they cute?

Drew was a little bit offended that he didn't get to "run the race", so after we were done, we put our numbers on Owen (Jodi's little boy), Mazee and Drew and had a race! Here they are taking off. Aren't they cute?

Sapulpa 5K

On Saturday I ran in the Sapulpa 5K. It was windy and cold, but other than that, it was a great experience.

My friends Lindy and Jodi ran with me.
Nick ran with Grant and Brady in the 3K fun run.

My brother Steve and sister-in-law Heather ran, too.

Steve cruising to the finish line. He and Heather make running look so easy!

I'm almost there!

Crossing the finish line! Yea! I wanted to run it in under 25 minutes, but I still came in 2nd in my age group, so I was happy.

Steve, Heather and I after the race. They both came in 1st in their age groups. Good job guys!

Grant and Brady taking off for the fun run.

Grant crossing the finish line. He ran his 3K (1.8 miles) in 14:41. Wow!

Brady wasn't far behind at 15:15. He had a sinus infection and had just played a soccer game, so I was so impressed that he finished!

Nick got stuck carrying everyone's sweatshirts half way through. What a trooper!

Exhausted after the "fun run". Don't they look like they had fun?
