Ropes Course

The first day we were in Utah we met the Haskins at the Provo Beach Resort. We were so excited to see them again! The Ropes Course was a huge hit with all the kids and with Nick. They described it as scary but fun.

Surfing at the Provo Beach Resort

Indoor surfing at the Provo Beach Resort was so cool. The kids loved trying to surf and boogie board. I wish we had a place like this in Tulsa!

Temple Square

Of course one of the highlights of every trip to Utah is visiting temple square. We also spent some time at the Church history museum. The Book of Mormon children's exhibit was really great.

Skiing

We had so much fun skiing at Alta with Nick's best friend Brett and his daughters.

Drew improved so much in the time we were there. He is so speedy now that I can hardly keep up with him.

I had fun with my little buddy all day. He was so enthusiastic and happy. I loved skiing with him.

Friends!

We loved being able to spend so much time with the Haskins while we were in Utah. It was fun to just be able to hang out at their house with them. Playing Just Dance on the Wii was definitely a highlight. It was hilarious!

Everyone in our family loved little Dax. He is such a cutie.
Noah and Drew had so much fun playing together. They played upstairs for hours and we never heard anything from them.

This was the picture we got when we tried to get the kids to pose. I guess it shows their true personalities.

More Friends!

We got to spend a couple of days with the Wixoms at the end of our trip. We were so happy to see them again! We all picked up right where we left off.

One day we went to Classic Skating and skated, played laser tag, played video games, bounced in the bounce houses, and played on the giant playground. It was so much fun!

Steph and I even got in on the skating action.
These three were hilarious together.

One afternoon we drove out to Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake. We saw antelope and bison, and had fun skipping rocks into the lake. The Wixoms brought airsoft guns and pop cans, and the boys had a BLAST shooting the cans.

Of course we made some time to just hang out at their house and catch up.

Soccer

We kicked off soccer season yesterday with a game in 40 degree temperatures with lots of wind. Sweet! I'm not coaching soccer this season for the first time since Grant was 5 years old. Wow! It's hard to believe I've been coaching soccer for 6 years. It felt great to let someone else be in charge, but I still caught myself pacing the sideline and yelling advice. I'll work on that one, but it's so hard for me to just sit and be a spectator.
Even though Brady is only 9, he's playing up so he can be on Grant's under 12 team. He played forward pretty much the entire game yesterday and did great. It looks like Grant is going to be playing a lot of goalie this season, and I had my doubts about that at first because I think he's so great on the field. After watching him in action in the goal yesterday, I decided his coach might be right. He was awesome! He had too many saves to even count and only one goal scored on him (and that was a penalty kick that went high into the corner). I guess this new coach might know what he's doing! Haha!

That's Grant punting the ball again and Brady (#19) just in front of him.
I had the hardest time getting pictures of Brady...he moves too quickly. I'll try again next week.

Double yummy!

Now Grant isn't the only one who is baking desserts all the time at our house. Brady is in on the action, too. He made these chocolate chip oatmeal cookies for dessert when my parents were over for dinner last weekend, and they were absolutely delicious!
